Miriam - (about the paper)

Nice work, I like what you're doing with this paper, you've got a good foundation and some great ideas. Be sure to give a more robust account of your Kingdom of God theology in that middle section (the dream), and fill out that last part of the paper and it's going to be good. I am excited to see the final product.(eight)

Hey Miriam,

I didn't know your email, so I checked your blog (which I must say, makes me embarrassed of mine!) - hope you don't mind. I had some questions on the first part of class (that i missed today). Do you have an email address/phone number I could contact you at?

I didn't get to read your first draft till coming here too. Since we talk so much about our case studies in class, it was neat to read a little more about your context. I can't wait to read more about it!

Miriam,
good start here. Here's some ideas for your next step.

Good work on the context description. For the Kingdom of God section I would like for you to consider more what specific aspects of the Kingdom of God you need to address. Peacemaking, social justice, grace, etc... What are a few that you think are essential to this context, dream of how that could look. You may also want to include what are some ofthe Kingdom of God aspects already there that could be built on.

Finally - for that last section - maybe you should consider how you as a bridge could help a church engage the school culture more. Of course you could do tons of stuff, but then you'd burn out quickly. So what are some realistic ways in which a church could partner with you or with your school to be more missional?

Keep up the hard work. Also bring in a hardcopy of your project to turn in for monday.

"I am beginning to imagine what it would look like for me to live, work, and attend church in the same neighborhood and intentionally connect those spheres. I would have my finger on the pulse of the school community and individuals within it."
Nice!

Miriam,
You left out how this book shapes or speaks to your own project which would have been good to work out. You could consider how your own background shapes the project, and what Karkkainen might say about that. Also, while you engaged some of the ideas of the book, I wouldn't have a sense of how it all shapes out in the book itself. How does reading this book lead you to "create new understandings and/or theory?"
